 Crunchy Battered Fried Chicken (Quick Recipe)

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 1½ lbs (about 700g) boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into strips or chunks
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (for extra crunch)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup cold water or club soda (adjust as needed for a thick pancake-like batter)

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil (enough for shallow or deep frying)
