- Prepare the Crunch Bar Base:
- In a large saucepan, melt the peanut butter and butter together over medium heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted and smooth.
- Once the peanut butter and butter are melted, stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add the rice cereal to the peanut butter mixture, stirring gently until all of the cereal is coated in the peanut butter mixture. The mixture should be sticky and slightly firm.
- Form the Bars:
- Line a 9×9-inch or 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Press the peanut butter and cereal mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula or your hands (lightly greased) to press it down firmly.
- Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
- In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and melted. You can also microwave them in 20-second intervals, stirring in between.
- Once melted, pour the chocolate mixture evenly over the pressed peanut butter crunch base. Spread it out with a spatula for a smooth layer.
- Chill the Bars:
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 2-3 hours, or until the chocolate is set and the bars are firm enough to cut into squares.
- Serve:
- Once set, remove from the fridge and cut into squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred size.
- Serve and enjoy the perfect blend of peanut butter, crunch, and chocolate in every bite!
