Butterfinger Balls are a decadent, no-bake treat that combines the crunchy, peanut-buttery goodness of Butterfinger candy bars with the smooth sweetness of chocolate. These little bites are incredibly easy to make and deliver a perfect balance of creamy, crunchy, and chocolaty flavors. Here’s how you can make these irresistible Butterfinger Balls:
Ingredients :
- 1 1/2 cups crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 5 fun-size bars or 2 full-size bars)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter , softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, for balancing sweetness)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or vegetable shortening) to help the chocolate coat smoothly
Instructions :
1. Prepare the Butterfinger Mixture :
- Start by crushing the Butterfinger candy bars into small pieces. You can place the candy bars in a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into a mix of fine crumbs and slightly larger chunks.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Butterfinger candy, powdered sugar, peanut butter, softened butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt (if using). Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should be thick and sticky, but still moldable.
2. Shape the Balls :
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place each ball onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or tray. Once all the balls are formed, place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
3. Melt the Chocolate Coating :
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips with the coconut oil (or vegetable shortening) over a double boiler or in the microwave. If microwaving, heat in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
4. Coat the Balls :
- Once the Butterfinger balls have chilled and firmed up, dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Use a fork or dipping tool to help with this process and gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
- Return the coated balls to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Set the Coating :
- Allow the chocolate coating to set by either refrigerating the balls for 30 minutes or letting them sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens.
6. Serve and Enjoy :
- Once the chocolate is fully set, the Butterfinger Balls are ready to enjoy! They can be served immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week .
Tips :
- For Extra Crunch : If you like a little more crunch in your Butterfinger Balls, add some chopped roasted peanuts to the filling.
- Chocolate Coating Options : You can use milk chocolate or dark chocolate for the coating if you prefer, but the semi-sweet chocolate balances the sweetness of the candy filling perfectly.
- Vegan Option : Use dairy-free chocolate chips and substitute the butter with a plant-based butter for a vegan-friendly version.
