Ingredients:
For the Brownie Layer:
- 1 box of brownie mix (or homemade brownies, if preferred)
- 1/4 cup water (or as directed on the brownie mix)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or as directed on the brownie mix)
- 2 large eggs (or as directed on the brownie mix)
For the Tiramisu Layer:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese (softened)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional, for extra coffee flavor)
For the Coffee-Soaked Ladyfingers:
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
- 10-12 ladyfingers (store-bought or homemade)
For Garnish (Optional):
- Cocoa powder or cocoa nibs
- Chocolate shavings
- Coffee beans
- Whipped cream
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Brownie Layer:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, or use your favorite homemade brownie recipe.
- Once baked, allow the brownies to cool completely, then cut them into small squares or crumble them into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Tiramisu Layer:
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, and cooled coffee until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined and smooth. Set aside.
3. Prepare the Coffee-Soaked Ladyfingers:
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed coffee and sugar (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Briefly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, making sure they are moistened but not soggy. You don’t want them to fall apart.
4. Assemble the Parfaits:
- In individual serving glasses or jars, start with a layer of brownie pieces at the bottom.
- Next, add a layer of the coffee-soaked ladyfingers, breaking them into smaller pieces if necessary to fit.
- Follow with a generous layer of tiramisu mascarpone mousse.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of mascarpone mousse on top.
5. Garnish and Chill:
- Garnish the parfaits with a dusting of cocoa powder or cocoa nibs, chocolate shavings, and a couple of whole coffee beans for an extra touch of elegance.
- Refrigerate the parfaits for at least 2-3 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the mousse to set. You can chill them overnight for a richer flavor.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the parfaits chilled, and enjoy this decadent dessert that combines the best of both tiramisu and brownies with a coffee-infused twist!
Tips:
- For extra depth of flavor, you can add a splash of coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa) to the coffee mixture for soaking the ladyfingers.
- If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply skip the coffee liqueur or substitute it with more coffee.
- This dessert can also be made in a large trifle dish if you prefer to serve it family-style.
This Tiramisu Brownie Parfait – A Decadent Duo of Chocolate & Coffee brings together the rich flavors of chocolate brownies and the creamy, coffee-infused goodness of tiramisu for an irresistible treat that will leave everyone coming back for more!
