This festive treat is perfect for the holidays! It’s rich, creamy, and packed with the delightful sweetness of maraschino cherries and white chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups (450g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz/400g) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (80g) maraschino cherries, drained, dried, and chopped
  • 1/4 cup (40g) chopped nuts (optional, like pecans or almonds)
  • Red or green sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

1. Prep the Cherries:

  • Drain the maraschino cherries thoroughly, then pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Chop into small pieces and set aside.

2. Melt the Chocolate:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

3. Add Flavor and Cherries:

  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Gently fold in the chopped cherries and nuts (if using).

4. Set the Fudge:

  • Pour the mixture into an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) pan lined with parchment paper, smoothing the top with a spatula. Add sprinkles if desired for extra holiday cheer.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.

5. Cut and Serve:

  • Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares.

Tips and Variations

  • Flavor twist: Add 1/4 tsp almond extract for a hint of cherry-almond flavor.
  • Festive touch: Swirl in a few drops of red food coloring before setting for a marbled effect.
  • Gifting idea: Package squares in decorative tins or holiday bags for a sweet homemade gift.
