These Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies are buttery, melt-in-your-mouth delights with a soft, crumbly texture. The sweetened condensed milk adds richness, making these cookies extra smooth and perfect for the holiday season or any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Prepare the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk until creamy and smooth.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms. If you’re using nuts, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts at this point.
  • The dough should be soft but slightly sticky. If it’s too sticky to handle, refrigerate it for about 30 minutes to firm up.
3. Shape the Cookies:
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden on the bottom but still soft on top.
4. Coat the Cookies:
  • While the cookies are baking, place the powdered sugar in a shallow bowl.
  • Once the cookies are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. While they are still warm, roll each cookie in the powdered sugar to coat them.
  • Place the coated cookies on a wire rack to cool completely.
5. Serve:
  • After the cookies are fully cooled, you can give them another light dusting of powdered sugar for an extra snowy look before serving.

Tips:

  • Nut-Free Option: If you don’t want nuts in your cookies, simply leave them out for a classic, nut-free version.
  • Storage: Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. They also freeze well if you want to make them in advance.
  • Flavor Variations: You can experiment with different extracts, like almond or hazelnut, for a twist on the flavor.

These Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies are soft, buttery, and perfectly sweet with a festive look—ideal for holiday cookie trays or any sweet occasion!
