Here’s a delightful recipe for making homemade Jelly Nougat Candy, similar to the popular version made with marshmallows and fruity jelly pieces.
Homemade Jelly Nougat Candy
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (12 oz) mini marshmallows
- 1½ cups (12 oz) white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1½ cups jelly candies (like gummy bears, Turkish delight, or fruit jellies), chopped into small pieces
Instructions:
- Prepare Your Pan:
- Line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Lightly grease the parchment with butter or non-stick spray.
- Melt the Base:
- In a large, heatproof bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them over a double boiler on the stove.
- Add Marshmallows:
- Stir the mini marshmallows into the melted mixture until they are completely coated and start to soften but not melt entirely.
- Flavor It:
- Mix in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
- Incorporate Jelly Candies:
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in the chopped jelly candies. Ensure they are evenly distributed.
- Pour and Set:
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Allow it to set at room temperature for at least 2-3 hours, or refrigerate for faster setting.
- Cut and Serve:
- Once set, lift the candy out using the parchment overhang. Use a sharp knife to cut into small squares or rectangles.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Enjoy your sweet and chewy Jelly Nougat Candy!
