Here’s a delightful recipe for making homemade Jelly Nougat Candy, similar to the popular version made with marshmallows and fruity jelly pieces.

Homemade Jelly Nougat Candy

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (12 oz) mini marshmallows
  • 1½ cups (12 oz) white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups jelly candies (like gummy bears, Turkish delight, or fruit jellies), chopped into small pieces

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal.
    • Lightly grease the parchment with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Melt the Base:
    • In a large, heatproof bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk.
    • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them over a double boiler on the stove.
  3. Add Marshmallows:
    • Stir the mini marshmallows into the melted mixture until they are completely coated and start to soften but not melt entirely.
  4. Flavor It:
    • Mix in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
  5. Incorporate Jelly Candies:
    • Let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in the chopped jelly candies. Ensure they are evenly distributed.
  6. Pour and Set:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
    • Allow it to set at room temperature for at least 2-3 hours, or refrigerate for faster setting.
  7. Cut and Serve:
    • Once set, lift the candy out using the parchment overhang. Use a sharp knife to cut into small squares or rectangles.
    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Enjoy your sweet and chewy Jelly Nougat Candy!
