CHICKEN SHAWARMA RECIPE

Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
1 kg boneless chicken thighs or breasts

4 tbsp plain yogurt

3 tbsp olive oil ( can use regular oil)

4 cloves garlic (minced)

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp ground paprika

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Garlic Sauce (Toum):
1 cup garlic cloves (peeled)

1 tsp salt

1 1/2 cups vegetable oil

1/4 cup lemon juice

2–3 tbsp cold water (optional)

For Serving:
Pita or flatbread

Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce

Pickles (optional)
