  • 200g (7 oz) spaghetti
  • 4–5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt (for pasta water and seasoning)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, but traditional in some regions)
  • Pasta water (reserved)
