Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 100 grams of cheese, grated
  • A bunch of spring onions, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • Sunflower oil (for frying)

Directions:

  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them using a grater.
  2. Squeeze out any excess moisture from the grated potatoes using a clean cloth or paper towel.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, sliced onion, grated carrot, minced garlic, grated cheese, chopped spring onions, egg, salt, and flour. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Take a portion of the potato mixture and shape it into a patty or round shape.
  6. Carefully place the potato patty into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Repeat this process with the remaining potato mixture, frying a few patties at a time to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  7. Once the potato patties are cooked and golden brown, remove them from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  8. Serve the crispy potato and onion patties hot, garnished with additional chopped spring onions if desired.
