Christmas Tree Cupcakes Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Cupcakes:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring

For Decoration:

  • Ice cream cones (one per cupcake)
  • Assorted sprinkles, edible glitter, or small candy stars
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for a snow effect)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake tin with festive liners.
  2. Make the Batter:
    • In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
    • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until smooth.
  3. Bake: Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  4. Prepare the Buttercream:
    • Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar.
    • Mix in vanilla and milk to achieve a smooth consistency. Add green gel food coloring to achieve your desired shade of green.
  5. Decorate:
    • Tree Base: Pipe a swirl of green frosting onto each cupcake as the “ground.”
    • Tree Top: Invert an ice cream cone onto the cupcake, and pipe frosting to cover the cone, creating a textured tree effect.
    • Decorate the trees with sprinkles, candy stars, or edible glitter.
  6. Finishing Touch: Dust with powdered sugar for a snowy effect if desired.
