Chocolate Cake Donuts Recipe
Ingredients (Makes 12 donuts):
For the Donuts:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1/2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice)
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2-3 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a donut pan with butter or cooking spray.
Step 2: Make the Donut Batter
- In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
