This Crustless Pizza Bake is a low-carb, keto-friendly, and deliciously cheesy alternative to traditional pizza. Packed with all your favorite pizza toppings like pepperoni, sausage, cheese, and marinara sauce, this dish is a perfect casserole-style pizza without the crust! Ingredients:
- 1 lb Italian sausage (or ground beef, if preferred)
- 1 cup pepperoni slices (or any preferred pizza toppings)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
- ½ cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Sausage:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage (or ground beef) until fully browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil. Stir to combine and remove from heat.
3. Prepare the Pizza Bake:
- In a greased 9×9-inch or 8×8-inch baking dish, spread a layer of pizza or marinara sauce on the bottom.
- Add half of the cooked sausage, followed by a layer of pepperoni slices, black olives (if using), and half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
4. Repeat Layers:
- Add another layer of pizza sauce, followed by the remaining sausage, pepperoni, olives, and the rest of the cheese.
5. Bake:
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
