For the Chocolate Cake:

- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

- 2 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional, or use extra brewed coffee)
For the Coffee Syrup:
- 1/2 cup (120ml) strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup (60ml) coffee liqueur (optional)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
For the Chocolate Ganache (Optional):
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 4 oz (115g) semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra shine)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chocolate Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar.
