Ingredients

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberry Mixture
- Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries break down and the mixture thickens (about 5–7 minutes).
- Use a blender or immersion blender to purée the mixture until smooth (or leave some chunks for texture).
- Let the strawberry mixture cool completely.
Step 2: Make the Vanilla Ice Cream Base
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour for best results.
Step 3: Churn the Ice Cream
- Pour the vanilla ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 4: Add the Strawberry Swirl or Base
