4 lamb shanks, trimmed of excess fat
1 onion, chopped
2 large carrots, chopped in large pieces
2 celery ribs, chopped in large pieces
3 garlic cloves, smashed
2 tbsp tomato paste
3 cups beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried oregano
2 bay leaves
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp cornstarch (for thickening)
