Spicy Jerk-Marinated Steak and Shrimp with Aromatic Yellow Rice

Marinate the steak and shrimp with jerk seasoning for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil. Add rice, turmeric, and a pinch of salt. Cover and reduce heat to low, cooking for about 18 minutes until rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

While the rice cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook for 3-4 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the steak.

In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the onions and garlic, tossing to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

To serve, plate the yellow rice, top with jerk steak and shrimp, and garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
