Chicken noodle soup for my husband who is under the weather

Ingredients:
1 pound (about 2 cups) cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
8 cups chicken broth (homemade or store-bought)
2 cups egg noodles (or any pasta of your choice)
1 cup carrots, sliced
1 cup celery, sliced
1 cup onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
