Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Bok Choy
Rinse the bok choy thoroughly under cold water to remove any grit, then pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel. Halve the bok choy lengthwise for even cooking.
2. Sauté the Garlic
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
3. Stir-Fry the Bok Choy
Add the bok choy to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, allowing the leaves to wilt slightly while keeping the stems crisp.
4. Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, chicken or vegetable broth, sugar, and the cornstarch slurry.
5. Combine and Thicken
Pour the sauce over the bok choy in the skillet. Toss gently to coat and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
6. Serve
Transfer the bok choy to a serving plate. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.
