Directions:

Prepare the crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it lightly.

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Stir until well combined.

Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form an even crust layer.

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it is lightly golden around the edges. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly while you prepare the filling.

Make the pecan filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and well combined.

Stir in the pecans until they are evenly distributed through the mixture.

Assemble the bars: Pour the pecan filling over the baked crust, spreading it out evenly.

Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly golden. The center should be firm but slightly jiggly.

Allow the bars to cool completely in the baking dish. Once cooled, cut into squares or bars.

Serve and enjoy the sweet, gooey, and nutty pecan pie bars!
