- Prepare the Strawberry Layer:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens (about 5–7 minutes).
Pour the strawberry mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. - Make the Cake Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined. - Assemble and Bake:
Pour the cake batter over the strawberry layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
