Here’s how to defrost your freezer, even in twenty minutes
Defrost your freezer in twenty minutes
The best-known method is certainly the classic one, which consists of turning off the freezer. However, it is also the longest, taking about twelve hours to obtain an excellent result. After removing all the food inside, turn off the device, you can do it in the evening and complete the process the next morning.
As the night progresses, the ice will melt completely, and you will find a lot of water on the surface. Dry it thoroughly with a cloth before turning the freezer back on to prevent ice from forming after a few hours.
However, if you are not sure what to do with the food while you wait or you do not want to wait that long, you can try other quick and effective methods. One of these involves using coarse salt, you do not even have to turn off the freezer but you have to be very quick so as not to waste too much energy.
The procedure is very simple, just sprinkle the coarse salt on the walls of the freezer, the grains will significantly lower the temperature. After about a quarter of an hour you will notice that most of the ice has already melted. To remove it completely you can use a spatula or rags.
To perfectly defrost the freezer there is another quick and super effective method in which the result is guaranteed. What is it? Simply put a pot of boiling water in the freezer and place it over an oven glove so that it does not come into direct contact with the appliance. The heat and steam will increase the temperature, the ice will then begin to melt and it will be very easy to remove it. Again, to complete the process, use a spatula or a cloth, after about twenty minutes your freezer will be as good as new.
