In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, and ranch seasoning mix. Mix until well combined.
Shape the mixture into a ball using your hands. It helps to lightly oil your hands to prevent sticking.
Place the chopped pecans on a plate and roll the cheese ball in the pecans until it’s evenly coated. This step is optional but adds a nice crunch.
Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow it to firm up.
Before serving, let the cheese ball sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly. Serve with your choice of crackers or veggies.

Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add some diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture. You can also swap out the cheddar for pepper jack cheese for a different flavor profile. If you’re not a fan of pecans, try rolling the cheese ball in crushed pretzels or even more bacon bits for extra crunch. For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and cheese, and turkey bacon.
