Use a smaller round cookie cutter to cut out half of half of the dough circles.

Spray a little water all around and place the circles on top with the hole in the center.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan to about 180°C/350°F. Fry the donuts on both sides for 3-4 minutes.

Step 9

If the center puffs up, make a small slit to let the air out.

Step 10

Coat the golden donuts with sugar and fill each hole of the donut with the custard.
