Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Creamy Filling
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped chives (if using), garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Transfer the filling into a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag with one corner snipped off for easier handling.
2. Prepare the Doritos
- Carefully open each Dorito chip using a sharp paring knife, creating a small pocket. Be gentle to avoid breaking the chips.
- Pipe a small amount of the cream cheese mixture into each Dorito pocket, ensuring it is well-filled but not overstuffed. Repeat for all chips and set aside.
3. Coat the Stuffed Doritos
- Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Carefully coat each stuffed Dorito in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in breadcrumbs for a crispy coating.
